Service Description
June 8 - August 13 10 Week Program Ages 4 - 13 Monday - Thursday, 9 AM - 3 PM Our Behavioral Health Youth Summer Wellness Program supports the emotional, behavioral, and social development of youth ages 4–13. Through counseling, life-skills workshops, and fun recreational activities, participants build coping skills, resilience, confidence, and positive peer relationships in a safe, supportive environment. Main Objectives •Improve emotional regulation •Build coping and stress-management skills •Strengthen social skills and relationships •Increase self-esteem and confidence •Reduce anxiety, behavioral issues, and isolation Core Program Components 🧠 Emotional & Behavioral Skills • Understanding emotions • Managing anger • Positive communication • Problem solving • Self-control strategies • Healthy decision making Common therapeutic approaches used: • Cognitive Behavioral techniques • Mindfulness practices • Social-emotional learning (SEL) 🧘 Mindfulness & Stress Reduction Daily short sessions to support mental wellness. • Breathing exercises • Guided relaxation • Yoga or stretching • Meditation for youth • Grounding techniques Benefits: • Reduces anxiety • Improves focus • Helps with emotional regulation 🎨 Therapeutic Activities Creative activities that allow youth to express feelings. • Art therapy • Music sessions • Journaling • Drama or role play • Storytelling ⚽ Physical Activity Exercise helps improve mental health and behavior. • Team sports • Obstacle courses • Fitness games • Outdoor play • Dance or movement sessions Goal: 45–60 minutes of activity daily Behavioral Health Skill-Building - Evidence-based strategies for coping, decision-making, and self-awareness. Emotional Regulation - Learn to identify, express, and manage emotions in healthy ways. Social Skills Development - Build confidence in peer relationships and communication. Therapeutic Activities - Art therapy, music, movement, and expressive activities. Safe & Supportive Environment - Licensed clinicians and trained mentors create a nurturing space. Fun & Engaging - Field trips, games, talent shows, and community celebrations.
